Singing Dog Quilt Works is located on Main Street in Old Town Placerville in a house that is
over 100 years old. Built around 1895, the house was owned by the Stricker
family who ran a drayage company. When goods arrived by train in
Placerville, the Strickers would pickup and deliver them to its final
destination. Back then, the house was located next to the creek about 100
yards to the north. In the early 1900's the house was moved to its present
location on Main street. Drayage equipment and delivery records were
found under the house and in the attic dating back to the early 1900's. It may appear small, but this
little store can house over 4,000 bolts of fabric, notions, and sewing machines too!
